Energy stalk and citrus (cellulose) ethanol produce the least amount of greenhouse gasses during production, transportation and use.

No food for fuel
Ecotec will only be using feed-stocks that will not compete with food production.

No deforestation of the rain-forest will accrue to complete our projects.

No land will be diverted from its existing uses. We anticipate minimal, if any, land usage variation from existing use and extreme care will be exercised to respect the existing ecosystem.

Belize bio-fuels will not be produced on productive forests, grassland or cropland.

Fresh water supply
Belize has an abundant fresh water supply. Ecotec has a waste-water treatment engineer on staff. We will always ensure that the water used in our processes goes back to the environment in the condition nature intended.

Fuel processing requires a great deal of water, a resource which Belize has plenty of. There will never be a choice between fuel processing and drinking water.

Renewable resources
We have identified all of the resources needed to support our target project areas. Belize has all the renewable resources which will allow us to develop our projects without making any substantial changes to Belize's ecosystems or its culture. In fact, each project has at its center, a plan to improve the ecosystem and the lives of the people in Belize.
